eBook The Boyfriend of the Month Club Last summer, I read a book by this author, and thought it a well thought out, non-sappy chick-lit type novel, so when this one fell into my hands with a batch of books I was given to BookCross, I thought I'd read it, too. Despite the fact that the title made me a little uncomfortable to read in public, it was a perfect poolside read. Again Geraci has created some likeable characters, and put them in realistic situations, laced with humor. While I could immediately see the flaws in the idea of a boyfriend of the month club, modeled on a book club, (some of which Geraci developed into plot arcs) it was amusing to see the follow through. Sometimes, when I start a book such as this, I'll write down at the beginning who I think will end up with whom. My score for this one was 100%, even for the duo introduced late in the book, but it was fun to see how the author brought everyone together.. 2. I thought this book was quite amusing I thought the club was an interesting idea that was bound to get out of control And boy did it ever This book is meant to be fun so don t take it seriously and just have fun reading it.

  3. There are lots of books out there about single women trying to find the perfect man, so I wasn t sure what to expect with Maria Geraci s latest, THE BOYFRIEND OF THE MONTH CLUB What I found inside the pages was a highly readable and funny tale of a Daytona Beach woman, Gracie O Bryan, who s juggling her crazy friends and relatives, her rotten love life, and her job managing the family owned Florida Charlie s, a big tourist stop off a major highway Gracie s wary of love after a long term relation [...]

  4. Slightly dull, the pacing is slow, and some of the characters sure come off as dumb especially the main character Grace had a bad date the blurb touted it as the worst date she had ever had, but my reaction to it was huh really that s it so she came up with the idea to change her bookclub into a club that would review boyfriends Now if this sounds like a good idea to you, to air out your dirty laundry like that in front of others, perhaps you will like this book As for me, I didn t care for the [...]

  5. This book helped pass the time but truthfully i m tired of books that just pass the time I want to read something that has me so involved that i can t peel my eyes aways and that I don t notice the passing of time Shame this book is not one of them I did like how every chapter seemed like a short story it had a point made and cleared by the end of that specific chapter but thats all the praise i m giving this booke main character in this book is foolish to me and the author truly made her sound [...]

  6. I really enjoyed this book It kept me reading until way past my bed time Grace was such a great character and so easy to relate to, although I think if I d had friends like hers, I wouldn t have been quite so nice and forgiving LOL The idea of a boyfriend of the month club is very appealing and I loved the idea of relating each man to a literary figure, particularly the Jane Austen ones. The love story really kept me guessing right until the end and I enjoyed how neatly Ms Geraci tied up all the [...]

  8. Cute, quick read about not judging a book by its cover Grace has been a part of a book club, that has been held in her family s tourist shop, but never read the books After a failed attempt at having a hot date with Daytona Beach most eligible bachelor, she shows up at the book club meeting, and wants to critique her date, and past boyfriends That way, other women will hopefully avoid heartache and bad dates based on her reviews. With the help of her friend, a literature professor, Ellen, they cr [...]

  9. A fun and flirty romance with lots of laughs I particularly enjoyed the interactions of Grace, Brandon and Joe and also all the goings on at Florida Charlie s, a unique gift shop Really enjoyed this book and hated for it to end Always enjoy this author.

  10. Link holedupinabook 2For some reason, I thought that the characters were older than they actually were I thought they were like mid to late 30s as opposed to just 30 Mainly because the way how they acted a little bitter, jaded and whatnot But then again, I live in NYC where it s perfectly normal to be single at 30 and no one is particularly bitter about it I don t really see that happening until their late 30s I guess it s probably different down there in Daytona Beach. This was definitely a LOL [...]

  12. The Boyfriend of The Month Club is an average chick lit novel I was looking forward to reading this book, so I am very sad to say that I was bored by it All the main characters are very well developed, relatable, and charming The premise is good Yet, I could never quite get into the story It never drew me in The whole novel felt a bit ambiguous I kept waiting for that clincher, which would make the entire book an incredible 5 star read, but it never came The heroine, Grace, is surrounded by a fe [...]

  24. Sometimes you just need to rent a book from the library that you know you ll be able to finish in 2 3 days tops I picked this book up a couple weeks ago, but only started it a few days ago This morning, I finished it It made me cry, it reminded me we are all human, it was sort of a romantic comedy storyline, it s a book I could have written Not just because of the content, but because of the written style.Allow yourself to read a few books like this per year It helps provide the balance we all s [...]

  25. so far i m disappointed I m about 1 2 way through My biggest problem is that the author thinks she s WAY clever than she actually is, so the writing is very boring to read too bad it has so much potential I m debating whether or not to finish it or start working on something else in my listJust finished Glad to say the book didn t get any WORSE but sad to say it still only gets 2 stars There were a few parts that moved really quickly hence the finished book I felt like it was a little too predi [...]

  27. Maria Geraci writes another engaging story about friendship and love The Boyfriend of the Month Club is funny and warm and very smartly written Follow Grace O Bryan as she attempts to resurrect her dying book club by turning into a boyfriend of the month club by comparing the men she and the other women in the group have dated to literary heroes and villians Her life becomes a little complicated as the club becomes the talk of Daytona Beach I highly recommend this to anyone who loves to laugh a [...]

  28. I really liked this story There were some parts that were a little bit too much drama for me, like the Sarah and Charlie thing got a little much in the end I actually thought there was enough with Joe and Brandon and all Grace s friends and family, and Florida Charlie s that the boyfriend club was extra It is an interesting concept that I think could have gone a lot in depth and been a bigger part of the story 4 stars because I really liked the characters and the romance seemed realistic I also [...]
