  2. Radio drama is a passion of mine, and the Paul Temple series has a solid place on my let me just listen to this one time shelf They all emanate the scent of old leather chairs, of cigarettes smoked in the private library and cocktails served in a nightclub called the kakadu The bad guys are the ones with German accents, the or less stupid characters talk American slang, and the heroes are the brits who speak their distinguished English that only from time time is contaminated by a single swear [...]

  3. Not one of my favourites this was written and published in the 70s 80s and it showse plot is a standard Temple mystery but what always confuses me is the timeline If you are going by age, in the first book 1938 Temple is 40 and Steve is not quite 30 The following books are pretty much sticking to the real time dates, so one written in 1950 or so will refer to previous events in the 1940s, although Temple and Steve themselves don t quite seem old enough to be 60 and 40 In the Madison Case , Durbr [...]

  4. The plot was quite good, but the writing How did a book like this ever get published I ve seldom seen such poor writing seen from a purely literary point of view Fortunately it was a short book, as I finished it out of pure stubbornness I won t be reading any books by him though.

  5. It was rather old fashioned and very British, but the plot was good Probably won t listen to any Too many dahlings and lets have a cocktail for me.
