Maggie Robinson is a former teacher, library clerk and mother of four who woke up in the middle of the night, absolutely compelled to create the perfect man and use as many adverbs as possible doing so A transplanted New Yorker, she lives with her not quite perfect husband in Maine, where the cold winters are ideal for staying inside and writing hot historical romances She also writes erotic historical romances as Margaret Rowe.

  2. What a cute little story this is This series is centered around a village called Puddling, which is known as a rehabilitative place that families can send their loved ones for care Whether it s because of a traumatic event, or just need of a reputation repair, the people who work at this foundation put the patients in a strict regime.Puddling was known as a famous reputation restorer, a place to rusticate and recalibrate Prominent British families had sent their difficult relatives here for almo [...]

  3. B , so 3.5 stars rounded up.Readers return to Maggie Robinson s fictional Cotswold village of Puddling on the Wold for the second book in her Cotswold Confidential series, Seducing Mr Sykes It s a mostly lighthearted romantic comedy in which a determinedly unconventional young woman who doesn t want to get married finds herself strongly attracted to a rather starchy young man who is intent on keeping his head down and living a quiet life It might not win any prizes for originality, but it s a ni [...]

  4. What an absolutely fun introduction to a new to me author and series Romance, comedy, and charm come through loud and clear in this thoroughly delightful addition to the Cotswold Confidential series This is definitely a series I will be following Sarah Marchmain Sadie was sent to Puddling On The Wold, a quaint village in Gloucestershire where wayward sons and daughters of Great Britain s finest families came for reputation restoration Or in Sadie s case, a place to think and repent for her behav [...]

  5. I am voluntarily leaving a review for an eARC provided to me by Netgalley and the publisher I am LOVING this series This story in particular is the perfect combination of fun and romance, but it doesn t slide into silliness OK, maybe a little silliness but it is well done it is emotional and touches on some serious issues, but it doesn t lose it s lighthearted air.Lady Sarah Marchmain aka Sadie has been sent to Puddling on the Wold to come to her senses and agree to marry the man her father the [...]

  7. I liked the first one in this series better I missed the influence of the cute Cotswold town and its people Although the characters were interesting, I didn t always understand their motivations.

  8. Seducing Mr Sykes by Maggie RobinsonCotswold Confidential 2In Puddling on the Wold they take in people to be cured of problematic issues at least awkward to their families When a person is in need of adjusting Puddling promises to fix them and has done so for quite some time Sarah Sadie Marchmain has been sent for the cure by her father who wants her married and his debts paid off Sadie is doing everything in her power to prevent the marriage by remaining uncured When a fire occurs in the house [...]

  9. The second book in the Cotswold Confidential Series is just as enjoyable as the first one What I really enjoy about Maggie s books is the humor and the lengths that the characters take to avoid each other when it is plain as day that they are made for each other The old adage Opposites Attract is the main trope to this series.Sadie is sent to Puddling by her father to punish her and make her capitulate to his plans for her to marry Sadie wants nothing do do with the men of the Ton and the longer [...]

  10. This is quite an unusual story An insane asylum, that is not It is humorous, but also encouraging Tristan, who is really a jerk in the beginning, meets Sadie, who is a hoyden and gets into all kinds of trouble I was really surprised by the fire, Mrs Grace accidentally started, which got blamed on Sadie The plot was great I loved the way Sadie did everything in her power to make people leave her alone The story moved seamlessly and the characters seemed so realistic This was truly a joy to read N [...]

  11. Lady Sarah Marchmain is a young woman who rebels against ordinary womenly ways in Puddling on the Wold, England in 1882 She has decided that marriage is out of the question and she prefers men s trousers to a ball gown She is living in a rehabilitation center her father s way of getting her character back to where it belongs A nearby son of a baron, Tristen Sykes, appears at the center and circumstances throw the two together, changing their lives forever An enjoyable story with plenty of spicy [...]

  12. Seriesosis warningI m starting to develop that dreaded disorder called Seriesosis That s when all the series start running together They become interchangeable You think you re reading one and then it dawns on you that are actually reading a different one you know, the one about the three orphaned sisters who are trying to find each other or maybe the four friends who attended Oxford and took some kind of blood oath Well, that s what happened with Maggie Robinson s Seducing Mr Sykes Here s what [...]

  15. Seducing Mr Sykes is the second book in Maggie Robinson s Cotswold Confidential series, and it is even better than the first book, Schooling the Viscount Sadie s behavior may seem a bit over the top in the beginning, but the reader soon comes to understand that she is a smart, great hearted woman driven to desperate measures by her particular circumstances and a culture in which a family sanctioned marriage was the expectation of women of her class She made me laugh, and she won my heart Tristan [...]

  16. After the legendary Lady s eleventh hour rejection of the man she was slated to marry, Lady Sarah Marchmain was sent to Puddling on the Wold to restore her reputation and change her mind It amused Sadie that her father, a duke, would use the last of his funds to lock her up in this fancy facility she couldn t be happier to be away from her loathsome family and have some time to herself As a local baronet s son, Tristan Sykes is all too familiar with the spoiled, socialite residents of the Puddli [...]

  17. This is the first book by this author that I have read and I have really been missing something because the humor in her writing is extraordinary and wonderful I am already looking forward to reading other romances by Ms Robinson The hero Tristan Sykes and the heroine Sarah Sadie Marchmain met in Puddling on the Wold where Sadie was sent by her father to stay until she had mended her stubborn ways i.e not marrying as her father dictated Tristan was the director of the Puddling Rehabilitation Fou [...]

  18. Lady Sarah, or Sadie, Marchmain is immured in the little town of Puddling on the Wold, a final attempt to curb her shenanigans before her father sends her to Bedlam In reality, he wants her inheritance from her mother, and this is his attempt to get it if she won t marry the man of his choosing Tristan Sykes is the head of the committee that runs the Puddling Rehabilitation Foundation and a bit of a stiff, not having gotten over his first marriage These two are oil and water or are they This is [...]

  19. This was such a fun and quirky book From the opening scene in the first few pages, Sadie provided some laugh aloud moments She is smart, funny, stubborn and beautiful Sent to Puddling On The Wold to change her troublesome ways, she meets Tristan Sykes He is wary of women after a failed first marriage and is somewhat stuffy and set in his ways What a clash when they meet Ms Robinson is a gifted author using wit and words to entertain the reader She gives us characters that are strong, funny and p [...]

  20. Gorgeous book, with grumpy H and a rather h who is annoying and silly at first We find out she has reasons, she s been poorly treated by almost all of the men in her life The H dislikes her from the start, thinks she is spoilt but her is not stupid and soon sees the hurt in her She fights her attraction to him, but then acts with a sweet innocence that he falls for her and I liked watching them work out how to be happy together Loved it.

  21. I was given this book through Net Gallery to review I will also see this book on my Kindle on June 20 since I love this author and buy every book.Loved it As usual, Maggie Robinson doesn t disappoint Her ability to find the two most mismatched and at odds characters and manage to wrestle them, almost willingly, into a two foot square, bodies pressed and lips locked, is magical This series and this story, Seducing Mr Sykes, is filled with conflict, deep personal issues that both Sadie and Tristan [...]

  22. Zany, fast moving, sweet much like the misunderstood and underestimated Sadie who just wanted to be left alone, until circumstances threw her into Tristan s very proper, very grumpy arms A lot of fun.

  23. I am so deathly tired of the abuse of the English language in books If I want to hear the language butchered I can take out my earbuds at work and listen for five minutes It s not just in early reviewer copies, though obviously it s common there it s not just in self published books This one is to be published by Kensington Books, which is pretty legit, right Yet here Our Hero reflects on being slayed by Sadie s regal presence , and vocal chords , and Our Heroine makes a sinuous trip up the sta [...]

  24. Sarah Marchamain refused to marry her father has promised her to someone and he just isn t what she wants She just wants to be left alone but this is not the case When she is sent away she never expects to meet the likes of Mr Sykes.Mr Sykes is in charge and knows he has his hands full with his new tenant He knows to expect the unexpected however when he gets to now her he realizes there is much to her You will be enchanted with this story I received this book in exchange for an honest review
