Holly Mortimer Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the Blindsided book, this is one of the most wanted Holly Mortimer author readers around the world. . A viral Kindle Blindsided DNF unfortunately because essentially I could not give more of a F***! I quit halfway. The good news I got this for free on Kobo. So I won't complain about how much this cost me. If I could give any advice to the author, you have time to edit the shit out of this before you start making people pay for it. Do not waste this opportunity. The concept has been done before. But I'm always open to new interpretations. And I have to admit, It started well enough with an engaging heroin with a troubled past. We follow her as she goes to a dreaded blind date set up by her best friends. In a chance encounter, she meets Perfect Mr Hollywood. At that point, I thought why not, it can be a light romantic read, a welcoming "no-brainer". But there's "no-brainer" and "no-brainer". The first one is a "dull your senses" kind of, and you can relax and enjoy the ride. The second is like a strange " use of brain not recommended" ad policy. One of them Mig doesn't like too much. The book did nothing but infuriates me with its nonsense. The MC is a writer and so good a writer that her book will be adapted in a movie. She meets a movie star in a bar, she surprisingly do not recognize him because she is surprisingly dense for someone who has an actress as a best friend. She is full of trauma. But while she sniffled one or two crocodile tears for her first love she can also appraised the merchandise (and the strong arms, the cologne etc) of Movie Star. Girl knows how to make the most of a fake therapy attempt. Movie star is very assholish, rude, stalkerish, instalove, instalust, one-dimensional cardboard character. He just doesn't feel real even less real than his character on TV. Except, from the name of his show, we don't have much details on his profession. He is overconfident D... who believes he can get away with anything. He is not developped at all. Most important, he can't be bothered with manners and etiquettes, as well as common sense, as he tried to forcefully come inside the house of a woman at 3 A.M. The TSTL heroin let him in. Before I could ask myself why in the hell would she do that, the hero dropped a bombshell on the last remnants of realism in this story. The best friend told him everything. She called him to explain that her friend was broken. What kind of love story would start like this really? What's with the best friend calling behind the MC's back to share the MC's trauma with, for all we know; a perfect stranger ? Who does that ? She is an actress. Does she not understand the words "confidentiality agreement"? It's just a few examples of things I did not like. I can't be bothered to give you more examples because it will probably spoil the entire plot. So to sum it up, there are problems with editing ( if a foreigner can tell you that, it's a problem) , flat characters with too-stupid-to-live tendencies and fake dramatic past ( when you get instahot for someone else while pseudo mourning the love of your life it's creepy ), unrealistic heroes, annoying supporting characters, a cliché-ridled plot, and some very cringe-inducing cheesiness.

DNF unfortunately because essentially I could not give of a F I quit halfway The good news I got this for free on Kobo So I won t complain about how much this cost me If I could give any advice to the author, you have time to edit the shit out of this before you start making people pay for it Do not waste this opportunity The concept has been done before But I m always open to new interpretations And I have to admit, It started well enough with an engaging heroin with a troubled past We follow [...]

  2. BlindsidedBy Holly Mortimer I flopped back into the soft bed as gently as I could, which wasn t gently at all, and curled into a ball and let it all come out Years and years of grief bottled up finally being released God, it hurt physically and mentally That s my life right now summed up A fucking mess of hurt I really enjoyed this book Holly is new to writing and did a fabulous job with her first book George, the female MC was very easy to relate to and Finn, the male MC is someone we all wish [...]

  3. I enjoyed this debut book by author Holly Mortimer While this was a nice quick read, I myself tend to like a book with a little detail and background information, such as how did George meet her friends and how long had they known each other, as well as how long was George married I would have liked some detail in some other areas as well, but will leave those out due to possible spoilers Nothing omitted was anything major to the story They are just things that help me connect with the story a [...]

  4. Blindsided was a fun, light story to read after a few stressful days at work Holly Mortimer was able to make me laugh and enjoy the quirkiness of the characters The story has a good amount of romantic moments that make you smile This book was received for free through First Reads.

  5. 4.5 5 starsReceived a copy of title from author in exchange for an honest review full, original post with quote s can be found at mnonmklreviews 20This book had it s ups and downs for me ups than downs, though My biggest disconnect with it was the age of the characters Up until I was twenty five, I really only enjoyed reading books with characters in their twenties Thirties scared me a bit, so I avoided those Now at my ripe ol age of twenty seven, my general age frame is mid twenties to mid thi [...]

  6. if the story was believable, it would not be a bad book But the author did not realize that, while she was bothering us with the internal turmoils of George, there was actually very little expressed by her to Finn The story is quite nonsensical, I love you, he loves me, what to do The heroine is a widow and scared to love again after losing her husband in a car accident The hero, Finn, loves her from the first day, but seems to understand her reticence to commit Most of the book is about her he [...]

  7. Total bummer of a read So disappointed After reading three barely okay books this month, I was really looking forward to a fun, easy, romantic read After reading the other reviews on this book, I thought this was it but I was completely wrong The whole story was so cheesy I hated the characters and none were believable Finn s bossy and Neanderthal ways made me incensed and drove me crazy Her wishy washy ways and inability to make any kind of decision was equally irritating Add to that, an editor [...]

  8. This was a surprise gem of a read It was an awesome read with author and widow George capturing the interest of Hollywood actor Finn What made this read special was the way in which Finn treated Finn and the way in George was not interested in his celebrity status Whilst George is not confident and has numerous high walls built up around her, Finn won t give up in breaking the walls down Put this together with a psycho fan determined that Finn is hers and hers alone and you get a tense and high [...]

  9. Sweet storyI loved the fact that this story has the two main characters struggling with letting the other in enough to really be in their lives That is a very real struggle that is happening in my life and so many others I love that they didn t give up on each other, even if there were struggles and setbacks I would totally recommend this to anyone who needs to identify with someone who isn t going to just fall in love the second they see someone and will question it a lot It was perfect

  10. I started the series with the third book world s apart, now that I read blindsided I can see they have the same story line but I love the story I am a faithful believer of the second chances, we all need a Finn in our lives doesn t matter how freestanding a woman may be, it is easy to fall in love with who wants to control our life in order to protect and love us we all want to be saved and Finn is all that George needed

  11. 14. Awful, the editing is terrible, the start was ok but then it just got weak, and predictable, so cringe worthy at times, and to many cliches I coudnt get away with the story, characters or where it was going, it was to predictable, sorry i never finished it
