Books Shift for Good: Simple Changes for Lasting Joy Inside and Out I did read the author's first book, The Shift and enjoyed hearing about Tory's struggles with food and her weight throughout her life. This book continues on in that same vein, in that sometimes we do slip back into our old thoughts and habits. I appreciate the author being truthful in how this is not a one-time shift but a continual shift-ing to get to, and stay in, the place you desire to be. The author includes many different ways to jump start your thoughts when we slip up, to continue on in the shift and help readers get back on track in both their bodies and minds. I agree that sometimes it can be small steps that take you to the bigger victory, but sometimes we are able to take giant leaps forward too.I do love Tory's small quotes of her own and others that she includes at the beginning and end of each chapter. They are beautiful nuggets of encouragement.Finally, I do not feel that the author needed to drop an f-bomb in her book. This is a self-help book and I do not feel it needed to be spelled out necessarily. It could have been abbreviated as F--- or in some other way, but I do not think the actual word was necessary to include. (She did include "F***" numerous times in another chapter as well.)I received a free copy of this book from Hachette Books, for my honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.. I received this book for free as part of a Chatterbox I really enjoyed this book since the author has gone through similar circumstances I really enjoyed the quotes at the end of each chapter It seemed that each of those quotes seemed to sum up what the author wanted you to take away from the chapter.I really think that anyone who has struggled through life, whether it be with your weight, your attitude, or anything else that may come along, should read this book There were some really great tak [...]

Wow was this book a quick read, and not just because it s user friendly I try to read 10 pages a day, and yes sometimes that can be a struggle No struggle with Shift for Good Very motivational Tory made me think a lot about myself, my goals and my daily life I d like to hear her speak in person she d be a wonderful guest speaker for Stream, especially our Women of Power Love her entrepreneurial spirit Just as Tory suggested, I connected with her on social media I m looking forward to her posts.

I read an ARC of Tory s latest book, Shift for Good Like Shift, it s geared toward women The focus is on finding ways to deal with life stress, busyness, making time for self and others Tory provides some good tips What I like best is her transparency she doesn t paint herself as perfect, but flawed and sincerely seeking ways to improve herself I also appreciate that she s practical, not fluffy or out there with her advice.

This is the second book I ve read by Tory I liked the first book, The Shift, better, as I felt this one lacked substance Each chapter is based upon a situation where Tory is trying to overcome something They don t all necessarily deal with losing weight or maintaining weight She continues to be funny, real, and like a friend next door, therefore I gave it four stars I just found use from her original book.

  7. loved this book was part of chatterbox so I got to read it prior to the release I have read other books from Tory Johnson and this one was just as good a great reminder to take care of ourselves not just weight wise but also mentally and to connect with others.
