A wonderfully intricate tale with numerous story threads that weave throughout the story Part romance, part murder mystery, the author kept me guessing right to the end There is a heartwarmingly strong and independent heroine who inadvertently becomes the suspect in a poisoning And the person least likely to support her, the husband of the murdered woman, also a suspect, becomes her ally Numerous suspects, a few red herrings, and a cast of intriguing characters fill the pages I have read numerou [...]

Talk about bang for your buck The Apothecary s Widow could have been a series of three, there are so many story lines involved Who killed Lady Pentreath and why Just when I thought I had it figured out, the author threw in another suspect that made me change my mind Of course, once Doctor Treen discovered Arsenic was used, the widow and local Apothecary, Jenna Rosedew became the prime suspect long as I wasn t following the thinking of those who were convinced that Branek Pentreath, the husband, [...]

This book was good.I am such a sucker with books titled The Daughter or The widow.I enjoyed the clash between the upscale noble hero and the working class heroine.I also enjoyed the fact that the hero was faithful and chaste during his unhappy marriage.The relationship had a nice build up to it.There was a mystery as well but it was somewhat light weight.Read it for free from my KU subsription

  7. More like 3.5 stars It was a good book, but I just hate when I figure out who dunnit before the characters do It really ruins book just waiting for the characters to realize what has become obvious With that said, most of the book was quite good with many plausible suspects.
