Part of the post war baby boomer generation I spent my first ten years in Carlisle before moving to Gloucester Frequent family moves resulted in an interesting but disjointed education I qualified as a local government administrator and personnel practitioner before taking an Open University Degree.I began writing during a career break in the 1980s, initially concentrating on articles and short stories In the late 90s I was asked to write a series of advice and guidance books for job seekers Several editions later I wanted a change of direction and began exploring the possibility of writing a full length novel A Necessary Fiction was written from ideas that came from research into family histories and the social history of the UK between 1750 1950 and the sequel A Plain and Simple Truth continues the theme of the consequences of unearthing family secrets.
