  1. I pre ordered a mass market paperback copy of this book through over a year ago Are they behind for this book Usually the paperbacks of the Noble Dead books come out in January.

  2. Spoilers It is kind of hard to believe this is the last of the ND saga I became invested in these characters, and there were several ways the story could end, not all of them happy It actually ended happier than I was expecting, though there was still some sadness, as was to be expected from a series like this Say what you will about him and his past deeds, but Chane was one of my favorite characters, and I am glad he survived However, spoilers now that Wynn is gone, what is going to happen to h [...]

  3. Oh No Say it isn t so The Noble Dead series is ENDING I could cry, seriously I have adored this series for years, I think I started reading about the time book 4 came out I am going to miss my friends so much After years of searching, Magiere, Leesil, Chap, Wynn, Chane, Shade, and the others finally have all of the Orbs The next question is what the heck to do with them Unknown to these friends, their helper Ghassen is possessed by an evil spirit that they thought they had wiped out He plots to [...]

  4. After 14 books and almost as many years following this series, the Noble Dead saga ends disappointingly with a routine entry that comes to a bit of a ho hum conclusion After numerous books detailing the hunt for the orbs and then their safe hiding, the final book has our heroes tricked into regathering them to battle the ancient evil known as Beloved There is some solid action, but the story separates our characters for most of the tale and then brings them together for a less then imaginative c [...]

  5. I was really looking forward to the end of the series but this book dragged on it did not feel like the other books where you could feel the love for their characters and their story It definitely felt like the authors were tired of the story and wanted to go onto bigger and better things The other books in this series kept adding questions, most of which I felt remained unanswered in this final book It was still an enjoyable read, but a disappointing end to a great series that I have been foll [...]

  6. The Night Voice by Barb and J.C Hendee, is the final book in The Noble Dead series, bringing together not only Magiere, Leesil, Chap, Wynn, Shade, Chane, Wayfarer, and Osha, but also others who still had a role to play After all of the painstaking adventures to collect the five orbs which are the anchors of creation, and guard them from misuse, a traitor strives to find a way to manipulate the sometimes reluctant allies to instigate one final battle that will change the world as they know it Unf [...]

  7. It s time to say goodbyeter my 9 years with Noble Dead Saga and I read first 6 books already translated in Czech d it is hard to say goodbye to beloved characters It was perfect ending Though I don t like the play with Ghassan it was just too long to uncover him for my taste, but I love the relationship between Wynn, Chane and Shade and Magiere with Leesil and Chap I am happy that nobody died in final battle, but Wynn s fate made me sad And epilogue made me cry but all that is a sign of a excell [...]

  8. The FINAL one I always struggle with final volumes as I am sad they are ending Dark Tower being a prime example so I have tried to set those disgruntled feelings aside. All the pieces on the board not only travel around A LOT but also eventually come together to encounter Beloved, the Night Voice An epic and still mysterious encounter, as things are being figured out right at the end Lots of questions are answered but some issues did not resolve to my satisfaction, almost felt a little bit rushed [...]

  9. I am glad this is the last book in the series so I don t need to read any I think it just went on too long, and so many subplots were created to pad it out that they couldn t be effectively resolved in this final book There is a final battle and an epilogue which lets you know how some of the characters are going, but all in all this is a shallow entry to the series with so many recaps there isn t enough room for new story On like page 356 there is ANOTHER recap that summarises what s you d jus [...]

  10. I have to admit, I really lost interest in this series during series 2 This last series installment picked it back up a bit, but I ve never regained the love I had for the first book It took so long to read because I actually had a craving for another series in the middle that wouldn t let up, so I actually put this aside and re read several books in that series before I convinced myself I really did need to finish this, especially since it s the last book Still, I felt like I was skimming to f [...]

  11. In 2003 Barb Hendee and J C Hendee wrote a simple tale of a half elf a half vampire, Dhampir paper and an intelligent dog who scam small villages with threats of vampire attacks and then they meet the real thing It sold well Fourteen books later they face the evil god, Beloved, The Night Voice hard from Penguin Group in a far off desert, along with the friends they ve picked up along the way They retrieve the orbs they ve hidden and make their way to an exciting and world shaking fight where Mag [...]

  12. A bit heart wrenching at times but all in all a fitting and satisfying conclusion to an absolutely amazing saga that has spanned years and 14 books Frankly I didn t want it end and I will miss Magiere, Leesil, Chap and Wynn But the thing I loved the most is that It left me with the feeling that the saga has completed the circle this novel ended on the same lighthearted and poignant note as Dhampir did, the book that started it all I don t think I have loved any series of books than this one and [...]

  13. I think the hardest thing with any art form is to know when you re done This series was loosing my interest with too many short books with lots of recaps so you didn t forget the details year to year I would have preferred fewer, longer books that wouldn t need those hints. So much like Raymond E Feist s Riftwars , it suffers from too many books Good news however, in that this is the conclusion maybe.

  14. This is a satisfying end to the series The final battle is a little anti climatic but fits well with the rest of story line What I really like about the end was that the authors did a 30 year time jump to show what happens to the characters afterwards Many books leave too many questions about what happens afterwards but this answers most of those while creating a few new ones that allow the reader to make their own conclusions.

  15. This is the best ending to a series that I have ever read I love the epilogue The only reason I rated The Night Voice 4 instead of five is because I skimmed through all the back story parts Cannot wait to buy this book I highly recommend it to all fantasy book lovers Thank you Barb and J.C for such a great ending to a wonderful series

  16. LOVE I was enthralled from beginning to end The ending what not what I expected, but I thoroughly enjoyed it I can t think of a better way to end this seriesd still, I m sad that the series is over and I don t get to spend any time with these characters I m impressed with the way presumably minor things in earlier books impacted the final showdown.

  17. I give this 4 star because of the entire series and how hard it is to end a 14 book series I loved Chap, Magiere Leesil they became like family The first 3 books were off the charts fun Then they became hit or miss, but the characters were never boring I definitely recommend the first series and if you like those read the rest farewell my friends

  18. As the ending to the series it was pretty good I didn t expect the epilogue to feature so heavily on Wynn though and would have liked to have seen a little of what the other characters were up to in the thirty years that had passed since their final task was completed.

  19. I cried SO MUCH This was a very nice ending to the series, though There were a few patches where we were moved forward past action that I thought could have been detailed, but it was understandable as to why.

  20. What a crazy tie up I love this series and this final book does not disappoint Of course as one who is quite attached to the characters, I didn t want it to end I wanted to stay inside their lives But of course, all good things.

  21. Full review tinyurl jv5ctzl__________An epic conclusion to an epic series arc I cried a bunch at the end

  22. What a fantastic ending to a great series 3Some unexpected suprises but very satisfying.I m pretty sad that I won t be eagerly anticipating these books any.

  23. Sorry that it is overThis whole series was just wonderful and I am going to read another of her series Can never get enough Great read, must read.
