Boxed set of three bestselling suspense stories by Lindsey Stiles
Tanglewood Road follows 16 year old Cody, a boy who ends up seeing some crazy stuff and has to deal with it It s an extremely quick read on my Nook it s 82 pages It took me two days just because I was so tired last night I was falling asleep with the Nook in my hand.It s got a deliciously creepy start, and I relished it It easily could have been a Twilight Zone episode, albeit a particularly grotesque one In fact, there is actually an episode where a couple wakes up to a totally empty town Howev [...]
I received this book from the author, thru in exchange for an honest review Some of this sorta contains spoilers, as I attempt to set up the plot to my satisfaction It does talk about things that happened in the book, but I don t believe I revealed anything that would ruin or take away from reading and enjoying this great book My Review This book was so fascinating to read, that I read it in one night It was scary and had some very realistic stories about what strange and unbelievable things cou [...]
3 1 2 4 HeartsReview written for MM Good Book ReviewsCody s family moved to Florida after Cody s failed suicide attempt in the hopes that a new start will bring Cody out of his depression Cody hates Florida so he sulks alone in his house waiting for school to start, but he begins to notice something wrong on the street, there s no signs of life Cody begins to investigate the strange absence of neighbours and comes across a demonic survivors group on line that talks about his street, and Cody str [...]
A tightly written horror story, Tanglewood Road is a quick, creepy and addictive read It reminded me of some of the better Point Horror books, and I liked that Elliot Arthur Cross updated the teen horror formula by writing a lead character who s a gay teenager Less clear is whether Cross intended our teen lead s parents to be quite so stupid, or if it was a necessity of the plot What parent leaves their recently suicidal son alone by flying away for two days The book s opening is supremely unset [...]
I received this book in return for a honest review.I throughly enjoyed this book I read it in one sitting, given it was a short read I was hooked from the beginning The story was told very well It always seems so easy to put into words what I dislike about a book In the case of Tanglewood Road I have nothing bad to say I loved the way it was written, loved the characters and the ending was fantastic Are there books to follow I sure hope so Would love to continue the story of all the Demon surviv [...]
Clearly Cross is an excellent story teller He was able to build suspense from the get go and the interactions with the daemon where solidly imaginative and well written Unfortunately I just didn t click with the main character, Cody For some reason I couldn t bring myself to care enough about the character to read this pretty short, only 138 pages, book in a timely manor Although I didn t connect with this book I encourage other to give it a try.
Entered giveaway that ends June 30th
This was a fun, quick read I enjoyed following Cody as he works at figuring out the mystery of Tanglewood Road I really hope there is another book on the way with the same characters
