  10. I loved the book I spent a year in Abomey and the book brought back many happy memories.The story is well written and Amelia very likable The only downside is that the books at some point moves from Dahomey to Nigeria I simply enjoyed reading about Gbehanzin s Abomey too much.


  11. I give this book 4.5 stsrs This book was beautiful I love the story and Amelia is very relatable I am glad to finally find a story that revolves around African history and not just the Atlantic slave trade I felt every emotion when I read this book It is definitely a must read
