(hide spoiler)]Descriptive Sex with OW/OM: (view spoiler)[No (hide spoiler)]HEA:(view spoiler)[HFN with a bit of a cliffhanger. (hide spoiler)]Safety Gang Notes:(view spoiler)[Age:There is no reference to the shifters age, but we can always assume that they are over fifty years old since the Pantera's last baby was born at the time. Push and Pull:Keira and Bayon have been pushing away one another, since they felt the pull for the first time, so for a ridiculously long amount of time, at least all their adulthood.OW/OM drama:NoSexual Past: Keira and Bayon (although feeling their attraction for the other and resiting it) apparently had quite a healthy sex life. Bayon was not as big of a player as he led to believe, not he sure was no saint, and Keira also let his believe that she was having more lovers than she did. It is pointed out multiples times that shifters are very sexual creatures (great, free reign to feel the books with promiscuous characters, just what I look for...not!). There was no particular reference to Jean-Baptiste and Genevieve, but neither were virgin. To become a elder's helper Genevieve would make a vow of chastity and have no mate.Condoms: Condoms are never used or mentioned because, like Raphael said at some point,“I’m incapable of catching or carrying human diseases so you were in no danger. And there’s never been a human female impregnated by a Pantera.” (hide spoiler)]Personal OverviewBayon(2.5 Stars)OMG, this story and this couple really got on my nerves!!!I was already unhappy with Bayon's manwhoring display, in the previous book, I really didn't need immediately in the beginning of this one, even only hinting to it is bad enough. There was nothing as intoxicating as releasing his animal to hunt. His lips stretched over his massive teeth, as his cat reminded him there was one thing more intoxicating.Hot, balls-deep sex that made a woman scream with pleasure.No. Not just a woman. The right woman.Something denied to him for far too long. Eventually they’d had to accept she was dead, and Bayon had secretly gone into a mourning that had matched Parish’s. Only his was worse, because while Parish had received the sympathy of the entire Pantera community, Bayon had been forced to keep his own grief shoved deep inside, pretending as if his life hadn’t come to a shattering end on that day.Well, boo hoo! He sure had no problem overcoming it by what we see, even if it was partially a facade, and the key word is PARTIALLY, he never denied having a lot of lovers, he only said they weren't as many as everyone thought. And Keira...I get her perspective, because when you are confronted by his constant promiscuousness, I would fight the pull too.All male Pantera were horndogs, or rather horncats, once they hit puberty, and Bayon was no different. When he wasn’t training or on duty his only thought was getting laid. Keira hadn’t had any interest in being another notch in his bed.Not when she’d had far more mature lovers who could ease her needs. The sort of lovers who understood her position as the leader of the Hunters, and never crossed her barriers. But this bullshit thing of him not being able to deal with her being a alpha female and her role in the Hunters, it's only a self mechanism for her to justify one more reason to pushing him away. And then he gets offended because he really doesn't understand why she pushed him away in the past,“I never doubted your skills as a Hunter, Bayon,” she snarled, her anger overwhelming her fear. “Not ever.”“Just my skills as a lover?”She sucked in a sharp breath. “Bayon—”“I need to find Talon.” With a fluid movement Bayon was on his feet and heading toward the nearby tunnel. He’d meant to distract her. Not open old wounds that for him had never healed. But for a brief, savage moment she’d been the old Keira and he’d been the old Bayon, and he’d wanted to claim her more than life itself. “I’ll bring back lunch.”“Bayon...wait.”How blind can someone be, to think that it's his quality as a lover that his the question, when it's the exactly the opposite, that the fact that he was so promiscuous and carefree about it that is the true problem. Christ, he’d mourned her for so long. It’d been a constant hole in his heart that he’d hidden beneath his image of a horny puma on the prowl. That such was the right decision (cue sarcasm). I really felt that both characters were quite immature in the way they analyzed the situations, and mainly in the choices they made, especially in the past.“Besides, I wanted you to believe that I had a harem in New Orleans.”“Why?”“You know why.”She did. It was the same reason she’d pretended that Sean was her lover.Stupid games designed to keep barriers between them.“Do you know why I was afraid to let you near?”“Because I wasn’t going to let you neuter me like you did your other lovers.”(...)“It was because I feared you would undermine my authority as the leader of the Hunters,” she bluntlyconfessed. “I had a hard enough time being taken seriously as an alpha without you distracting me.”So they spend all their types playing games, and it took them twenty five years apart and him think she was gone, for them them to definitely stop all the stupid games. It didn't take too long, did it?? She’d fought this moment for so long. Ever since she’d sensed this cat was destined to be more than just another lover. She couldn’t fight any longer. And the consequences of all this childish games, are shown when he says something that is supposed to be sweet and loving like:“I adore all women, but I always knew my mate would have more spice than sugar.”“Really?”“Oh yeah.”She sniffed at his smug male expression. “And how did you know that?”“Because I’d met you.”and all I could think was: if you knew she was the one, why sleep around??? 2. I was so looking forward to this book written by two authors who I love very much Alexandra Ivy wrote the first story in this book, and Laura Wright wrote about my main hunk of a man Jean Baptiste warning he is such a HOTTIE Tattooed and pierced fanning myself still The only disappointing thing about this book is that the stories are just too short I love this shifter world these authors have created, and the shifter men are sexy, loyal, and possesivewhat could a gal ask for First up, we have B [...]

  3. Got to read an early copy and wow, Bayon and Jean Baptiste are just as hot as Raphael and Parishokay, maybe Jean Baptiste stole my heart just a little He s so delicious The tattoos and piercings really do it for me, lol

  4. Bayon Jean Baptiste had quick, fast paced, short novella length stories continuing the Bayou Heat storyline I really enjoyed this book and found the romantic encounters hot and steamy I m am completely intrigued by the slow process of unveiling the plot by multiple authors, it works so cohesivelyd each step of the way lots of smokin hot romance and of the core of the story is explored Looking forward to book 5 6.

  5. 4 1 2 Star Average This book is why I love paranormal romance so much It was really great, kept me enthralled through the end and was even better than the first book, which I really liked, too.Bayon 4 Stars Bayon was a great character, and when a blast from his past shows up, his whole world changes He s the sort of hero you really want to find happiness the one that will do anything for the one that holds his heart and can handle a strong woman Jean Baptiste 5 Stars I think I enjoyed this one t [...]

  7. This set of novellas was just not quite as good as the last I really did not love Bayon s story I did not understand their history Why they played all the games But then the reunion was just weird for me I am not that fond of alpha heroines This was a second chance but it really because they were not together before I enjoyed Jean Baptiste But did not like the heroine very much Don t like pushing away even for less than a day So far I believe the quality of Ms Wright s books have been better.

  10. Where to start, I loved both stories and I can t wait to see where this series leads The plot is thickening and the story of the Wildlands is becoming important and significant to the series which I love I felt this book had meat to the actual plot of the series However, there was one thing that was missing for me and I felt a little cheated by it Keira, I wanted of her reunion with Parish Her character so directly effects the Parish we got to know in the first book she was what made him so v [...]

  11. I liked this book better than the first one, though it still had its issues First, are the cliff hangers really necessary I didn t used to have big issues with them in the past, but the one in this book was ridiculous I actually heard a voice over in my head saying, tune in next week to see what happens next This book was longer than the first one, so each of the short stories had a few pages to develop both the plot and the chemistry between the couples, but it still wasn t enough There are st [...]

  12. First let me start by saying it can NOT be easy to write a dueling series like this one with two different authors The authors have to have complete trust in each others writing, and I commend them both on writing an extremely fantastic series.Okay now onto the bookBayon started out the book, and started to bring things from the first book into perspective With Ashe being attacked in the 2nd part of the first book, we start to see in Bayon s who is behind the attack We also learn about Parish s [...]

  13. Sorry, but disappointed in this offering I loved the first book, but hated the cliff hanger at the end, so couldn t wait to get the next instalment, so that I could follow on with the story However, there has been some months between readings, and I kind of forgot a lot of book 1, this book only briefly mentions the previous characters, so I was struggling to put the two books together, I needed a bit of a recap and then I would have enjoyed this book better, but the authors failed to do this Th [...]

  14. Once again we have Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright splitting duty each taking a character and highlighting them and their story within the greater plot of the series Each story links together in the plot and the characters intermix from all the novellas in the series I read the first two stories in the series and though it was cool and unique A different way to write a novel As I got into reading this story 3 and 4 I began to find it kind of annoying It became a bit choppy and I wanted of a flow [...]

The world of the Pantera is simply brilliant The authors have again given us the intrigue, adventure, and sexy shifters associated with the magicks of the Wildlands Bayon s story provides answers to many of the happenings from the end of the first book Raphael Parish We learn about who attacked Ashe and how they were able to get her additionally, much about Parish s sister whom he has mourned And we meet Bayon s long time love.Jean Baptiste, a Nurturer, the sexy bad boy with tats and a multitu [...]

  18. The continuation of Bayou Heat series Another two, great chapters with Alpha males and smutty fluff The first, Bayon stumbles upon the one who disappeared and supposedly died 25 years ago, Parish s sister Keira, once the leader, now just broken and lost Bayon helps her return to her former strengths and to remember what she forgotten. The second, Jean Baptiste is sent to retrieve a Voodoun to help with Ashe s baby, and to back him up, Genevieve comes along She s a calm and collected woman who sti [...]

  19. Still, my main complaint is that they are too short I want depth to the characters, time to get to know them, for them to have genuine feelings I know they were written and meant to be novellas, but there s so much potential that I wish the people had a chance to be REAL Things just happened too fast for my taste The reason this one has one less star than the others is because I felt this one was kind of repetitive compared to the first one I wanted a bit variety, just as all people are diffe [...]

  20. Jean Baptiste is my favorite g I love a male with tattoos and piercings I really like Bayon too He is very playful and charming.I m looking forward the next book very much I need of this spicy and sexy world g
