  10. I LOVE this book because it teaches readers what adjectives do It gives so many examples of adjectives during the story Although there is not really a plot in the story I think that this book would be so beneficial to read It could be used to provide an introduction to adjectives, and then could also be used to remind about the importance of adjectives every year I think that this would be a great hook to an adjectives lesson, because it is a fun book I wish I would have had it when I reviewed a [...]

  18. Cleary fills the book s pages with lots and lots of adjectives On the page before the title page, there s a little cat pointing to a poster which defines the word adjective Most people will miss this He uses the words describe and modify one time each I think the author could do to define this part of speech within the text of the book The illustrations and rhymes are cute and engaging, and the book serves as a good introduction to 1st and 2nd graders However, I don t think it s the best book t [...]

  19. Full review at unleashingreaders p 2895Teaching parts of speech is one of the hardest things to teach students, and it is even harder to teach them in a fun and interesting way These books make it so that both of these things are possible I like that each of the books focuses on only one part of speech instead of trying to teach multiple grammatical concepts thus making the chance of mastery much likely I also found the rhyming and silliness of the books just so endearing, and it would definite [...]

This book can be used to introduce adjectives to children and extend their vocabulary using a rhyming format I like these series of books because it introduces the topic that children will be learning about In this book, they give the definition of what an adjective is, and then gives examples of adjectives in fun, rhyming sentences This book could be used in a read aloud, and then students could create a class list of adjectives.

  21. This is a great book for kindergarten and first graders as they begin to learn about adjectives a extend their writing I don t know if the book is supposed to be this way, but when you open my book you have to turn the book around and page all the way to the back because the book is upside downwhich is not an ordinary way a book is put together There is no reference to it in the story, but it sure makes for good conversation.
