  2. One of the best endings to a series I have ever read The story was just beautiful There s no words, no GIFs to express it I have never cried because of a book in my entire life, but The Red Winter is one of the very, very few books that came close.Absolutely no complaints other than that it was only released as an e book, and wasn t in any online libraries a shame, but it s well worth buying anyway.

  3. I have just finished reading this book seconds ago and I still have a couple of tears running down my cheeks I am not going to give you any spoilers or tell you about the story You just have to read it for yourself Thank you, Henry Neff, for writing such an awesome ending to this five book series I am at peace with the ending.

  4. When I first picked The Hound of Rowan Book I of The Tapestry , I had no idea that this would be a journey I would NEVER forget And I didn t even begin to imagine that it would span so many years, tears, etc The Red Winter is the most fitting conclusion to any series I ve ever seen By reading it, one feels complete.Neff s writing is absolutely captivating The way his characters especially Max have advanced from the first book through the fifth is very realistic and you only think of it once you [...]

  5. While I would have preferred a print version of book 5 to go with books 1 to 4 , having the e book version was better than having none It was a good conclusion to the series, no question about that, although I was strangely disappointed with the final battle with Astaroth and with what happened to Bram.

  6. This series is my favorite There will never be another character like max, I hope that the author continues to use this wonderful universe he has created in future series that he writes.

  7. Best series I have ever read.I think this is the best ending to a series and I will always be comparing other books to this one Forget Harry Potter and read a truly well written series.

  8. I Can t wait i m really despising those people that can read the book online right now as an e book instead of waiting all the way in November for it to come out in hard cover anger

  9. Having successfully defended Rowan from Prusias, the alliance is now ready to go on the offensive Prusias, the seven headed dragon demon who claims rule of the world, must be defeated Worse, the victory must come at the place that is the seat of his power And always, in addition to Prusais s menace, David, Max, and Mina must grapple with the mysterious Astaroth before his plans can come to fruition.I can t think of a perfect cap to this startling and excellent series Max, the Hound of Rowan, th [...]

  10. The content of this book was as exciting as the rest of the series has been Plenty of action, violence and conflict to go around Would be wary of recommending any of this series to a preteen audience due to the above, although it is worth noting that there was no sex and if there was profanity it didn t leave a strong enough impact on me to be noticed So depending on the preteen it might be a consideration. The heavy dose of Irish folklore was fascinating and I was kept busy looking up deities I [...]

  11. It s still held back by inconsistencies and pacing issues As if the author wanted to write a different series but was forced to write within the mold of what might become popular I find no wrong in that, only that it seems to be a different book The series glossed over a rather important part in book 2 that fundamentally changed the character and only in this book do we see what happened It is unfortunate as if that was revealed in the 2nd book then the series would have made sense There was no [...]

  12. this series has been dear to me for a very long timei fell in love with the tapestry and its beautiful lore, characters and stories like with no other book series thus it has taken me over a year to finish this last book, it pains me so much to see it end but what a fitting conclusion, a triumph and an epilogue which made me cry real tears im not okay farewell to the tapestry and to max mcdaniels this series will stay with me forever.

  13. I would definitely recommend these books It s a great adventure and you really get to see the characters grow into themselves The books never feel repetitive or get stuck in a rut on mundane details These are books that I just happened upon and I flew through and I absolutely loved how everything was summed up The ending, in my opinion, could not have been better It s one of those endings that just makes you smile Worth the read

  14. Great way to end a cycleCannot get over this stort One of my all time faves now for sure Completely inspired and i am now trollong Impyrium for traces of rowan.

  15. This book was by far the best in the series, and as a stand alone, one of my favorite books ever So amazed at the journey this book took me on.

  16. The story of the remarkably overpowered Max McDaniels While the series started of very Harry Potter esque, with a boy, who had no idea that magic existed or his surprising prowess in it, was suddenly whisked off to a school for magical individuals From here on out, the series introduces new lovable and hateable characters such as David Menlo, William Cooper, Hazel Boone, and my personal favorite Nick the forest Lymrill also this one really annoying smee named Toby However, after all the hardship [...]

  17. I finally wrapped up this series, filled to overflowing with too many evils and many plot twists, yet fairly satisfied with the conclusion I believe this book has a chapter entitled Deus ex machina and that made me chuckle because there seems to be a lot of that throughout the whole series.I listened to the first 4 books in the series as audiobooks, but apparently this one was only published as an e book Fortunately, I could borrow that digital title from my local library and did not have to pur [...]

  18. I read the acknowledgements of the book I normally don t practise this I read the section about the author I almost never do this Only a few books come by every few years that make me fall in love with the protagonists, plot, setting and most of all, the God posing, other worldly, partly insane antagonist, so much that I would just devour the book cover to cover.Ever since Book 1, I ve loved this series At first, I thought it would be any other series containing magic folklore Oh no Dear God no [...]

  19. For lack of time on my hands I ll make my review short, concise, and to the point This is my favorite book series I ve ever read.I m writing this review almost two months after finishing The Red Winter, and I still feel confident in saying that everything about Max s story is nearly perfect in my eyes After finishing this book I was too emotionally crushed in a good way to pick up another book Trust me when I say I ve tried since, and simply haven t been able to read another book. From the very f [...]

  20. I should start with this since I don t think I can write a review and not comment on it That The Red Winter is digital only is a shame because I would have loved to have the entire series sitting prettily on my bookshelf.Moving on though, this book was an emotional roller coaster of the best kind There were a few moments where I actually cheered aloud for the characters I don t want to spoil too much, but I do want to say that there are many tragic and triumphant moments While the overall plot i [...]

  21. I did not enjoy the first four books I only read them because my brother wished me to.I took my time to start reading Red Winter It had been so long since i had read the other Tapestry books, that I found myself putting it off. Finally, I started, and loved it Henry H Neff gave readers a stunning end to the series. It was written fantastically In every line you could see the thought that went into it He used a variety of vocabulary, but never used words just because they were big Red Winter had a [...]

  22. I enjoyed this book and the conclusion to this series and the mythology that was peppered throughout Just some thoughts spoiler alert I would say that at times, there was a bit of repetition in the series and I wish there was character development about Mina, as she ended up being an integral character to the plot line The Injury There wasn t much information about how it could happen, what made that weapon special It seems as if the ending explains the wound healed as Max accepted who he was f [...]

  23. What can i say This book and indeed this entire series have been wonderful The unique characters the lovely storytelling and the very heartfelt ending are what made it One of my favorite antagonists, co protagonist, and main characters of all time The magical intertwinement of mythology kept me on my toes will the wondrous Nick kept the book light If you are into YA fantasy, i would strongly recommend this series If your into fantasy i would strongly recommend this series If you hate all types o [...]

  24. I read The Tapestry series because I loved Impyrium and the books are set in the same world thousands of years apart Unfortunately it was harder for me to get into this series Probably because I didn t care for Max and the whole series centers around him Minor detail How many times have we seen the floppy haired teenage wonder boy as the protagonist The other characters and plot twists kept me reading Neff s writing improves with each book, the fifth being my favorite.Side note, I would be frien [...]

  25. Very enjoyable ending to this series I have thoroughly loved delving into this new world, experiencing the genre that is a mixture between fantasy, Irish mythology and horror with the possession Even though the war occurred predominantly in the fourth book, I found that did not detract from the fifth In fact I liked the fact that the final i statement wasn t all the oncoming war to end evil The duel perspectives of chapters kept the story flowing without having to follow the direct action of the [...]

  26. I loved this book When I first started this series, I was skeptical It didn t sound like my typical read Having finally completed the series, however, I can honestly say that it is a beautiful tribute to the fantasy genre The sheer world building and overlapping of myths and legends is staggering The author takes old themes and tropes and makes them his own This book in particular, when compared with the rest of the series, really struck a chord with me It was beautifully written, the world was [...]
