Okay, I know what you re thinking Tui What kind of name is that Is it short for something Nope Among the many great things to come out of New Zealand the Lord of the Rings movies, cats that paint, my mom is a bird called the tui not as well known as the kiwi, but a heck of a lot noisier I was born July 31 same birthday as Harry Potter in Caracas, Venezuela, and lived in Asuncion, Paraguay Miami, Florida and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, before moving to New Jersey in high school, where I started doing theatre mostly backstage work, because a it was fun, and b you got to hang out in the dark with cute boys Er, I mean because it was artistically fulfilling, yes I graduated from Williams College in 98 and I currently live in Boston with my husband, my perfect new baby, and my adorable yoodle Sunshine what s a yoodle A puppy that s three quarters poodle and one quarter Yorkshire terrier, of course.Much to my parents relief, I abandoned my theatrical aspirations after college for the far stable and lucrative career of fiction writing. My first two official books were beginning readers, part of Grosset Dunlap s First Friends series for kids learning to read MEET MO AND ELLA is tough to find now, but FUN WITH MO AND ELLA should still be out there somewhere. My first novel for teenagers was THIS MUST BE LOVE, which retells Shakespeare s play A Midsummer Night s Dream in a modern day high school, from the POV of the two heroines, Hermia and Helena. And now I m writing in a new project called SEEKERS It s a children s book series that I m writing with Erin Hunter Check out my blog to find out

  1. Having escaped from the Talons of Peace with four other dragonets, Tsunami is thrilled to be heading to the SeaWing Kingdom from which she was stolen years ago The five dragonets of destiny are supposed to stop a war among the various dragon factions, and she is sure that her mother s kingdom may be a safe place for her and her companions But they ve barely arrived when the others are put in a cave, and Tsunami must navigate lies, deceit, and treachery from every direction Through it all, she is [...]

  2. With every book the dragon world grows Not my favorite series ever but it was still very fun I don t feel like writing a long review Screw that.

  3. This is a fun series and is quickly becoming a go to for me for fun, quick reads I also enjoying discussing these with my girls who have read them all This is their favorite series I don t think I enjoyed this one quite as much as the first book, which was Clay s book This book started out a little slow In the beginning, Tsunami and her friends are on their way to the SeaWing Kingdom to find Tsunami s mother, and I was a bit bored throughout that part of the book When they finally arrive at the [...]

  5. Brilliant I am liking Riptide very much In fact, there are a lot of likeable characters in this book, so than were in The Dragonet Prophecy Anenome is pretty awesome, I see a lot of me in her character is that scary Ah, well I feel like a small SeaWing dragon and Auklet, though you don t see much of her, is a very promising character already Partly because I love her name Auklet It reminds me of Anklet, predictably Oh, as for other likeable characters, I find that Webs is growing on me every m [...]

  6. No second book syndrome here A great sequel that captured my interest quickly This was such a fly through read I picked it up and breezed through it so quickly and found myself immersed in the story.I really enjoyed the plot I wasn t bored at all while reading this I liked Tsunami s narration very much, she made it interesting to read I actually didn t mind the love interest here.A couple things could have been done better, though Peril was absent, and I m not sure if the new characters introduc [...]

  7. Actual Rating 3.5I hate to say it, but I was really disappointed with the second book in the Wings of Fire series I absolutely LOVED the first, but this one just didn t seem to hit the mark The strange thing is though, I thought that I was going to like this one because it was going to be from Tsunami s perspective Yeah, no I seriously considered giving this one a 3 star rating, just because of how much it disappointed me The only reason I rounded up to 4 is because the first one made up for i [...]

  8. Tsunami has escaped from the control of the Talons of Peace with the other dragonets of the prophecy She is tired of the neverending war between the different dragon factions and wants to finally meet her mother, Queen Coral of the SeaWings, since Tsunami was stolen from the royal nursery as an egg by Webs, who was merely trying to keep the dragonets safe When Tsunami and the other dragons approach the SeaWing kingdom, Riptide rushes to attack them Eventually, the misunderstanding is cleared up, [...]

  9. The action packed, dramatic, and thrilling book that I begged to get after finishing the first in the series is called Wings of Fire, the Lost Heir This amazing tale of betrayal, love, and magic was made by 35 year old Tui T Sutherland The genre of this book is fantasy, fiction, and action The genre of this book is fantacy and action, which is perfect for all of you Harry Potter fans What the story is about is basicaly, a group of five dragons which are labled the dragonets of destiny, go to the [...]

  10. In Tui T Sutherland s Wings of Fire, The Lost Heir, Tsunami finds her mother, and found her happy ending, only to find out that someone has been killing her sisters for many years before and after she was born But when Blister comes into the picture, Tsunami starts to look around for any sign that could lead her to the person behind it In the meanwhile somebody has put Clay, Glory, Starflight, and Sunny in a cage AS PRISONERS Can Tsunami save the day with her new little sister and friends

  11. Tsunami is coming home but it isn t quite the homecoming she imagined Having been raised away from the Seawings, she has little idea how to behave around her own people Worse, someone has been killing the royal dragonets, and Tsunami is now a target.Tsunami isn t my favorite of the five dragonets She s bossy, impulsive, and stubborn, and since most of this book is about her, it took me a while to get engaged It is also, however, as much a story about her coming to grips with some of her own weak [...]

  13. 3.12 stars I did not like it all that much But the thing is I really love the sea and the names of every one of SeaWings I thought they were humans at first Little did I know, they were dragons And all of them sound very adorable and I could not help but like them a little.Other than that, the plot is a bit lame for me I wish I could discover this book when I was desperate back when I was eight or nine because it would fit perfectly back then Now I am just too old for anything like this Seriousl [...]

  14. Not a bad second installment, but I miss Clay as a narrator This one is Tsunami heavy, and even though it is supposed to be her story, I was disappointed in the small amount of page time the other dragonets got I m looking forward to Glory s story in the next book

  15. This is such a fantastic middle grade series so far I love how each book is told from a different dragonet s perspective, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the third installment.

  16. With mystery, royal intrigue and romance, this second entry is a step up from the first volume. After the events of the first book, the Dragonets of Destiny are headed to the SeaWing kingdom, hoping they can find protection since Queen Coral is also Tsunami s mother On the past volume, there was mention of a bedtime story titled The Missing Princess, about a lost SeaWing princess and her return I had imagined Tsunami s point of view novel would touch upon this story and take it somewhere violent, [...]

  17. This book was the continued journey for the dragonets, except it s fro Tsunami s point of view Tsunami meets her mom and even her siblings They continue to find each of their parents, all while figuring out who they will chose to be the next queen This is the second book in the series I like how the author changes perspectives for every book in the series It s kind of nice how it shows the story adventure by each of the dragonets It s unique and it kept me interested There were also twists that [...]

  18. 3 5I thought this book was waaaaaaaaay better than the last book I found it way interesting and it was really cool seeing the different type of dragon But, I think 99% of the characters annoyed me at one point Dramatic irony was really used through this whole book but it honestly got really annoying The plot for this book was actually good, surpassing last book which didn t really have a goal that the book focused on I liked the mystery part of it with the killer of the heirs, the plot actually [...]

  19. I really liked this book because I like the sea, and the description of the ocean that the book described.Another part I really liked was how the summer palace was described I pictured it was a huge dome with a greenish blue light because of the green canopy and with a pond in the middle with caves in it with sea wing dragon heads popping out of the cave holes I liked anemone because she had the telekinesis power I would recommend this book to my friends because they like the same stuff I like w [...]

  20. I LOVED this book because I think it was awesome It was awesome because I had lots of details and it had TONS of action in it It was also kind of sad because Tsunami figured out that her family wasn t as nice as she thought.

  21. I think this book was really good I like the Wings of fire books because they are a whole big story.I also liked it because it is a lot about under water adventures.I hope you enjoy this book.
