Ò The Lord of the Rings: Official Movie Guide ☆ Brian Sibley
139 Brian Sibley

Boxed set of three bestselling suspense stories by Lindsey Stiles
Not one mention of Gollum which makes this worth only one star.
Fun collection of background and behind the scenes info about the Fellowship of the Ring movie not the whole trilogy I enjoyed reading about the efforts to bring this story to the big screen and especially the insights into Peter Jackson s thoughts and methods I was charmed to learn that he was born in New Zealand and that he first read the Lord of the Rings on a long train journey from Wellington to Auckland the same one I ll do in March There are actor character profiles for the star studded c [...]
It s fascinating to learn the inside scoop on movie making, especially the first film in this breathtakingly beautiful trilogy This book only covers The Fellowship of the Ring, so characters in the second and third films are not mentioned This book contains a section about the filmmaking from Peter Jackson, comments from each actors, and full page quality color images A cherished keepsake to read again and again not just for your coffee table
A lovely book with interviews and full color pictures from the making of the original LOTR trilogy the only drawback is that although it s supposedly a complete movie guide to the whole story, this book came out at the same time as the Fellowship of the Ring, and therefore doesn t deal with the other two films much I did enjoy it, however, especially from the 2012 perspective of just having seen The Hobbit there is a funny little comment by Peter Jackson in this book where he says with convictio [...]
This was a high level overview on the making of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and had some interesting information on how everything from the costuming, scenes, and concepts came together. There were about 30 pages about some of the actors and their relationship with the book, and being cast I was less interested in what movies they had been in previously, so skipped those paragraphs since I can look them up on if I really wanted to.I liked seeing the character comparative height chart and readi [...]
I haven t read the book The Lord of the Rings but the movies are among my favourite I do intend to read it though one day.Reading this was interesting as it gave a lot of behind the scenes information and about Peter Jackson It s also interesting in that ot only have I have seen all three Lord of the Rings movies but also all three of The Hobbit movies, which isn t even on anyone s mind yet when this book was written It would be good to read The hobbit version of this book to learn the thoughts [...]
A wonderful endeavor for all lovers of cinema, fantasy and fans of the movie itself I found the anecdotes amusing, the photos breathtaking, and the information fascinating It also featured a full page on each actor, something that not many books on the topic have It truly does this monumental film justice by focusing not only on the large scope of the movie making process but also on the individual journeys of the director and all the collaborators of the film I highly reccommend it to new reade [...]
This is one of those official movie tie in books, and it s got great photographs, and it reads like a glorified magazine not to mention that since it came out with the first film, it s missing a lot of information As a fan of the films I want to know than what New Line s marketing machine wants me to know as the first film is coming out It would have been nice if the book told the complete story of the making of the films, like the Lord of the Films by J.W Braun.
Very good Most interesting Nice pictures I love Lord of the Rings and this was a good companion One disappointment, though, was that it only covered the first movie And no picture of the Mines of Moria, my personal favorite part in that one Or of the Balrog But nice, very nice, photos of all the main actors So A good one
This book does NOT disappoint It is loaded with fascinating info about how the fim was made, the actors, the crew, the production, and loaded with glorious color pix.Anyone wanting great background info presented in a beautiful layout will enjoy this book
Amazing what went into the making of this film The actors spent considerable time getting into character and all relayed a deep appreciation for the writing of Tolkien s triology and the script developed from the books Peter Jackson is an outstanding Director
Excellent book, very informative, beautiful pictures A must for any LOTR fan
A very informative interesting account of how the film was made, the book includes interviews with some of the actors from the film
Had some interesting stuff about the actors and making of the movie.
Para fans de Tolkien
Mildly interesting It only covered Fellowship, so that sort of limited it But worth the read.
This came out after FOTR, so it is not particularly comprehensive for the entire trilogy, but there are some nice images.
This is a sumptious book with gorgeous photos and enough text to accompany each without getting tiresome Very nicely done.
The Lord of the Rings Official Movie Guide by Brian Sibley 2001
This was a cooooooool movie guide It was an easy read and very informative about how they managed to make these freaking epic movies D
My first glimpse of the LOTR movies and convinced me that maybe the movies wouldn t be half bad LOL.
This book is valuable for its artwork and visuals from the film.
Although I liked Brian Sibley s Making of LOTR book better than this one because it was comprehensive, this was a great read too for anybody who is a fan of the movies.
Really interesting, and excellent quality pictures and graphic layout too.
Not fiction, but great character profiles.
