My expectations weren t very high as sometimes this author, in my opinion, gets carried away with his humor This was funny but the characters weren t too weird A teacher, male, is unemployed temporarily when his school burns down so takes a job for a year teaching in a tiny town in Utah Also hired to teach a community class for the summer so moves in early summer He finds that because someone put a curse on people and the first couple married, after the curse was made, dissapeared on their honey [...]

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the quirkiness of the characters, they still were written to be somewhat believable unlike the last two books I read and the writing was clever and witty I was sad when it was finished I have seen the movie baptists at the barbecue and really want to read the book now.


  3. My husband in IN this book, so of course I have to give it 3 stars at least He knew this author when he was in New Mexico, and the author liked my hubby s name so much he put it into the book.It s a cute, fast, and funny story.


  4. it s a book about a guy who looses his job whe the school he works at burns down so he takes another job in utah teaching but he doesn t know he s teaching a class on how to get married and to have personal relationships even though he has his own relationship problems


  5. I like Robert Smith His books are all about small town, eccentric country folks, but I get some good belly laughs from him This is a silly book, in the same vein as Baptist at my Barbecue, but I liked it.


  6. Laugh out loud story about a guy who knows he has a superhero complex Beginning when he was young and tried to fly after his first kisskes you wonder if there really is a town of Mishap from the author of Baptists at our Barbecue, this will make you laugh so hard you cry D


  7. This book is just plain funny I love his assessment of Utah as he contemplates moving out there, and then I love his attitude as he goes about having his adventures and trying to save the town A mystery love story that doesn t take itself too seriously.

  12. This book was just ok The author was sometimes funny, but I felt like he also tried too hard to be witty in his writing The story was also pretty silly But it was a quick easy read.
